VectorCAST/Coupling was recognized by the judges of the annual Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards program.

Vector Software, the world’s leading provider of innovative software solutions for embedded software quality, announced today that VectorCAST/Coupling was recognized by the judges of the annual Military & Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards program. The judging panel consisted of a panel of senior third-party expert professionals.

Vector Software was honored with a Silver award. In the avionics industry, DO-178B/C includes guidelines used by organizations developing airborne equipment as well as certification authorities, including the FAA. These regulations prescribe a process to be followed in the development of airborne systems, outlining key requirements for the safety of the software used in the airborne systems. Objective 8 of DO-178C requires organizations to confirm that the requirements-based testing has exercised data and control coupling. VectorCAST/Coupling is a tool that provides data and control coupling verification for C and C++ source files to meet these mandatory standards for safety-critical avionics software development. It is designed to work with an organization’s existing code, requirements-based tests and build scripts, and no custom setup is required. Using the automated coverage instrumentation avoids the costly and time-consuming job of manually instrumenting the code.

“Electronics central to the military and aerospace industries must perform flawlessly to ensure that missions and human lives are not placed in jeopardy,” said Jeffrey Fortin, head of product management at Vector Software. “With VectorCAST/Coupling, organizations get off-the-shelf compliance with the DO-178C reporting requirements – a critical step in ensuring the safety of underlying software. We are grateful to be recognized as a Silver honoree in this year’s Military and Aerospace Electronics Innovators Awards.”

Alan Bergstein, publisher of Military & Aerospace Electronics, said "This prestigious program allows Military & Aerospace Electronics to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the military electronics industry. Our 2017 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact."

The Innovators Awards are judged based on the following criteria:

  • Innovation
