While different automotive OEMs and suppliers struggle to achieve compliance with the Road Vehicles – Functional Safety standard, ISO 26262 since the release of its first version in Nov. 2011, these companies are faced with constraints of limited time-to-market and the reuse of legacy software products and components, in addition to the general lack of skills and resources in the area of functional safety across the market. This has led to the generation of good, yet bad practices as well. This presentation tries to focus on the top five practices to adhere to and to avoid while trying to comply with ISO 26262.
