Turbocharge Automotive Embedded Software Testing to Meet MISRA and ISO 26262 Standards

Der Wettbewerb in der Automobilbranche verschärft sich zunehmend. Erfolgreiche Unternehmen sind zu ständigen Innovationen gezwungen und führen deshalb immer wieder neue Merkmale ein, die zum großen Teil softwaregetrieben sind. Reine Mechanik spielt bei Kraftfahrzeugen inzwischen keine wesentliche Rolle mehr. Ein Auto ist heute eine integrierte Maschine mit eingebetteter Software in allen wichtigen Systemen wie Motorsteuerung, Antrieb, Radaufhängung, Bremsen und Unterhaltungselektronik.

Für Automobilindustriezulieferer ist die Kontrolle der Kosten bei eingebetteten Kraftfahrzeugsystemen sehr wichtig, da die hergestellten Stückzahlen viel höher sind als in anderen sicherheitskritischen Bereichen, wie zum Beispiel Bordelektronik für die Luftfahrtindustrie. Softwaretests waren schon immer kostenintensiv, aber die Kosten für das Finden von Softwarefehlern sind vergleichsweise gering im Vergleich zu den direkten Kosten, die in Zusammenhang mit Produktrückrufen und dem damit einhergehenden Imageschaden entstehen. Deshalb sind gründliche Tests in der Automobilindustrie unabdingbar.

Verifikations- und Validierungs-Standards für Software im Automobilbereich

ISO 26262 und MISRA sind die zwei Softwarenormen in Bezug auf Verifikation und Validierung von Software für Kraftfahrzeuge.

ISO 26262 ist eine derzeit entstehende Norm für funktionale Sicherheit. Ihre Bezeichnung lautet "Road vehicles -- Functional safety". Es wird sich dabei um eine Ableitung der Norm IEC 61508 handeln, angepasst an die spezifischen Gegebenheiten elektrischer/ elektronischer Systeme im Automobilbereich. Teil 6 der neuen Norm bezieht sich auf die Softwareebene und gibt Empfehlungen für Tests und Verifikation von Software als Teil des Softwareentwicklungsprozesses.

Empfohlen werden unter anderem Tests auf Modulebene und auf Systemebene wie zum Beispiel Funktionstests (anforderungsbasierte Tests und Partitionstests) und Tests der strukturellen Abdeckung.

Wie VectorCAST die Erfüllung der Norm ISO 26262 unterstützt

Die eingebetteten VectorCAST-Werkzeuge für ISO 26262 entsprechen den Empfehlungen für Softwaretests und -verifikation in Teil 6 der o.g. Norm, indem sie die Erstellung und Verwaltung von Testfällen unterstützen, mit deren Hilfe nachgewiesen wird, dass die Erfüllung der Low-Level-Softwareanforderungen überprüft wurde.

Integrierte Unterstützung für MISRA

 

Statische Analyse ist seit der Definition des MISRA-C Programmierstandards durch die Motor Industry Software Reliability Association (MISRA) ein wichtiger Teil der Entwicklungsprozesse bei Automobilanwendungen. Das Dokument "Guidelines for the Use of the C Language in Vehicle Based Software" wurde 1998 veröffentlicht, um die sichere Anwendung der Programmiersprache C in der Automobilindustrie zu fördern. Es enthält Regeln, die eine Untermenge (subset) der C-Sprache definieren und die inzwischen als Modell für eine gute Programmierung anerkannt sind. Der Standard "MISRA C++: 2008 Guidelines for the use of the C++ Language in Critical Systems" aus dem Jahr 2008 definiert ähnliche Regeln für die Programmiersprache C++.
