Die Sicherheit von Flugzeugpassagieren hängt von der Zuverlässigkeit der Software in den Flugsystemen ab. Aus diesem Grunde hat die FAA den DO-178B Standard entwickelt, der eine Grundlage für die Entwicklung von Software in sicherheitskritischen Bereichen der Luftfahrt darstellt. Die notwendige Zertifizierung der Software nach DO-178B ist allerdings sehr zeitaufwendig und kostspielig. Die Hersteller müssen zur Zertifizierung darlegen, dass der implementierte Code alle definierten Anforderungen richtig erfüllt, dass die Anwendung keinen Code enthält dessen Einfluss auf das Verhalten der Software nicht bestimmt werden kann und dass der Code vollständig getestet worden ist. Die primäre Größe für das adäquate Testen ist die Codeabdeckungsanalyse. Sie analysiert, ob der Quellcode der zu zertifizierenden Software durch Testanforderungen vollständig ausgeführt wird.

Das für Bodensysteme definierte Komplement zu DO-178B ist der DO-278 Standard.

Wie VectorCAST die Einhaltung der DO-178B und DO-278 Standards unterstützt

Der strukturelle Testprozess, der durch DO-178B definiert wird, beschäftigt sich mit dem Testen der high-level und low-level Anforderungen und der Codeabdeckungsanalyse, die aus diesen Tests resultiert. In vielen Projekten werden die high-level oder funktionale Anforderungen zuerst getestet. Während dieser Tests kann VectorCAST/Cover genutzt werden, um die erreichte Codeabdeckung zu erfassen und zu protokollieren. Durch System- und funktionale Tests ist eine 100%ige Codeabdeckung leider nicht zu erreichen. Im Allgemeinen werden hier nur 60% - 70% Code abgedeckt.

Der verbleibende Rest der 30% - 40% Codeabdeckung kann durch Modul- und Integrationstests abgedeckt werden. Der Modultest involviert benutzte Treiber und Stubs um bestimmte Funktionalitäten zu isolieren und die Funktionen mit den Testfällen auszuführen. Diese "low-level" Tests werden genutzt um die vorher getätigten Systemtests zu erweitern und damit eine 100%ige Abdeckung zu erreichen.

Mit VectorCAST für C/C++ und VectorCAST für Ada können Sie den Prozess des Modul- und Integrationstests automatisieren. Ein wichtiger Faktor ist hier, dass die Abdeckung, die während dieser Tests erreicht wird, mit der Codeabdeckung, die aus den Systemtests herrührt, kombiniert werden kann. Es werden zusammenfassende Reports generiert, die die Abdeckungen kumuliert wiedergeben, welche im System-, Integrations- und Modultest erreicht wurden.

Test in der Zielumgebung

In den meisten Fällen wird das oben beschriebene Testen in der Zielumgebung oder zumindest in einer Simulation der Zielumgebung, stattfinden müssen. Für den Modul- und Integrationstest wird dies mit dem Cross-Compiler/RTOS VectorCAST/RSP (Runtime Support Package) erreicht. Das RSP liefert, in Kombination mit VectorCAST /C++ oder VectorCAST/Ada, eine automatisierte Testumgebung für den Modul- und Integrationstest in eingebetteten Systemen.

Verbinden von Anforderungen und Testfällen

Das Werkzeug VectorCAST/Requirements Gateway ermöglicht eine Integration mit Anforderungsmanagement Werkzeugen wie z.B. Telelogic DOORS®. Dies erlaubt das Verknüpfen von Anforderungen und Testfällen in VectorCAST und die Rückgabe der Ergebnisse an das Anforderungsmanagement Werkzeug.

Automatisierte Regressionstests

Die DO-178B Projekte haben normalerweise eine Codebasis, die über Jahrzehnte gewartet werden muss. Die Anforderungen, einen erneuten Test der Anwendung durchführen zu können, um eine neuerliche Zertifizierung zu erhalten, erfordern automatisierte Regressionstests. VectorCAST/Manage ermöglicht alle Testaktivitäten für den gesamten Lebenszyklus einer Anwendung zu verwalten. Es stellt einen zentralen Kontrollpunkt für alle Modul- und Integrationstest Aktivitäten dar.

Qualifikation

DO-178B spezifiziert, dass eine Qualifizierung von Entwicklungswerkzeugen notwendig ist, wenn Vorgaben durch die Verwendung eliminiert, reduziert, oder automatisiert werden, ohne dass das Endergebnis verifiziert wird. Für alle VectorCAST Produkte sind komplette Werkzeug Qualifizierungs Kits verfügbar. Die VerctorCAST Werkzeuge wurden qualifiziert und in mehr als 50 Projekten für DO-178B Avionik Systeme, darunter auch Level A Systeme, erfolgreich zur Zertifizierung einsetzt.
