Providence, RI -- [via] Vector Software, the leading provider of software solutions for testing safety critical applications, announced the availability of the VectorCAST toolset for users of Cosmic Software's compilers for Freescale's S12 MagniV and Power Architecture platforms. One of the latest additions to Freescale's extensive portfolio of chips, the S12 MagniV product family has been expressly designed for automotive applications. These mixed-signal microcontrollers feature a complete portfolio of scalable memory options and represent the future of the automotive applications. VectorCAST/C++ and VectorCAST/Cover are among the first embedded software testing tools in the industry to announce support for the new hardware platform.
"As a result of our commitment to the industry, our list of premier automotive customers has been steadily growing over the past several years -- particularly in Asia and Europe," said Bill McCaffrey, Chief Operating Officer at Vector Software. "This latest integration indicates that Vector Software intends to be the tool of choice for companies performing unit testing and code coverage as mandated by ISO 26262."
Additionally, to better answer the needs of automotive manufacturers and suppliers, Vector Software has also extended its support of the Cosmic Software compiler for Freescale's Power Architecture. Leveraging its close partnership with Cosmic Software as well as its superior knowledge of the compiler, Vector Software has built a robust integration to the Cosmic Software ZAP Simulator which can be readily extended to offer board testing capabilities.
"We are delighted with Vector Software's continued commitment to Cosmic's software development tools for the embedded systems industry," said Michael Burns, Vice President North American Operations at Cosmic Software. "Both our companies are committed to providing our customers with the best products and services to help them complete their projects on time and under budget."
