| Welcome | Welcome to the Summer 2011 edition of VectorCAST Directions!
Well the sun is shining and summer has finally arrived. For a while there I thought Old Man Winter was not going to give up his icy grip on us. Check out the Automated Software Testing blog for pictures of this past winter’s snow storms. Thankfully, it’s finally time to break out the flip flops, lather on the sunscreen, and spark-up the grill!
The past few months have been pretty exciting for us here at Vector Software. Since our announcement of the 5.2 release of VectorCAST, we have been experiencing a record number of requests for demonstrations and product evaluations! The newest release of VectorCAST is now TÜV SÜD certified for safety-related software development according to IEC 61508 and ISO 26262 standards. In addition to TÜV SÜD certification, VectorCAST 5.2 includes an expanded set of new features and enhanced functionality designed specifically to improve productivity for developers and project managers.
This summer, Vector Software will be presenting at the Real-Time & Embedded Computing Conferences (RTECC) events in Irvine and La Jolla California. If you are planning on attending any of the upcoming RTECC events, please feel free to stop by and introduce yourself! For details on these any other Vector Software events, visit VectorCAST.com.
Enjoy your summer!

The integration of Polyspace with VectorCAST allows software testers to combine code coverage, code compliance and runtime error detection in a single workflow. Once the engineer has some confidence that the unit under test is functionally correct, the engineer can then verify its robustness by running Polyspace from within VectorCAST. Polyspace will find overflows, divisions by zero, out of bound indexes or other runtime errors, enabling the tester to focus on functional errors. Polyspace will also prove sections of the code to be free of certain runtime errors, and highlight sections of the code proven to be unreachable, thus providing formal criteria to stop a testing campaign. With this integration combining dynamic and static verification techniques, software engineers can verify code functionalities and prove code quality with a single workflow.
