Software Field Applications Engineer - Territory: USA
The role of a Vector Software Field Applications Engineer will be to help our US customers successfully utilize Vector Software's products to achieve their program goals in a timely manner. Duties will consist of:
- Pre-sales technical presentations
- Answering customers questions
- Providing on-site support and customer training for Vector Software's products
- Troubleshooting customer problems
- Utilizing detailed knowledge of Vector Software's technology to develop and distribute implemented solutions for the customer
This support role involves both remote debugging from a local office, and the opportunity to travel to customer sites in the US.
Required Skills- Experience developing professional-grade embedded software with C++
- Excellent understanding of OO design
- Excellent written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to learn quickly and to understand code written by others
- Ability to quickly identify and acquire information necessary for solving problems
- Ability to prioritize multiple concurrent issues and follow through to closure
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to travel several weeks out of the year
- Embedded real-time operating systems experience
- Experience with WindRiver, Green Hills, LynxOS, IT, Freescale, IAR development tools
- Experience developing software to a certification standard (DO-178B, IEC 61508)
- Experience developing and debugging software for an embedded microprocessor
- Software testing tools experience (VectorCAST, LDRA TBrun, IBM/Rational TestRT, Parasoft C++Test, Cantata, Tessy)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
Software Developer

Vector Software is looking for dynamic, self-motivated software engineers with 1 to 3 years' experience, to join a fast-paced, rapidly growing company developing automated testing products for Windows and Unix platforms. Each team member is an integral part of development including: analysis, design, implementation, test, customer-support and product release.
- BSCS or technical degree (or currently an undergraduate for internship)
- Linux, Unix, Windows; C++ language knowledge
- GUI development and Qt knowledge a plus
- The ability to stay focused, work independently, and deliver on-time is a must.
